Moth (2003)

'MOTH' is a stereo-channel sound, and single beam slide projection installation work that was exhibited at PB Gallery at Swinburne TAFE in 2003.

 

The work consisted of some 80+ slide photographs of industrial Melbourne, with a complimentary sound scape field recording of the areas.

 

I used the metaphor of a Moth for the way I was working, flying by night and attracted to light.

 

Since the work was based on celluloid and they were presented on continually rotating frames - with sound - I'm content on calling this piece a 'film', albeit, at a reduced framerate of about 1 frame per 5 seconds.
