You’ve got to wonder how many people actually read your blog. And what the point of it really is. It’s like a public record I guess, well, I guess for me it is. But lately I’ve been using Facebook a lot, and I’ll use it to post video’s I like, things I’m interested in, quotes, events etc… It’s kinda confusing having all these portals. Even at home I keep a journal, which I guess is just for my own personal edification.

It’s nice to have a blog, i think. Even when not much is up, it can just sit there. Maybe when a larger more public project comes along, it can serve as a means to deliver news to the masses.

So I’ve put a Facebook badge on the sidebar to the right. Feel free to add me. I was real anti-Facebook for a while there. But I’ve come to embrace it. With a blog you really have no idea who’s looking at you (I’m sure there’s some plug-in that lets you do it) but with Facebook you’re directly plugging into people. Into your friends.

So I guess in a sense a blog is for the general public, whatever random people might stumble upon your site. WIth Facebook I guess you try and cultivate a network of like-minded people.

On the news front, lately I’ve been on a trip to Tasmania, Perth, & Sydney, for both creative projects and holiday down-time. I was recently involved in a documentary on unexplained light phenomena with my band The Min Min Lights. And in two weeks I’ll be performing at Rainbow Serpent Festival as Sinuso Dial, and with The Min Min Lights in our debut live show.

In my downtime I’ve been researching indie-games. I just love the whole scene. I’ve been having a bit of a poke at C++ the past few days. So maybe soon enough I’ll finally get onto developing a game. It’s a lifelong dream, I think. Time to bring it to reality!

Two games I’ve stumbled upon lately that are still in production and looking very promising, one is flOwer by thatgamecompany, the same team that produced flOw. I’m just loving this whole new influx of ‘ambient’ games. Also a neat looking 2D/3D platformer called Fez.

Check ‘em out:

Hey Matt, you’ve got me thinking about blogs now, they are strange things. I think I started blogging on a whim basically as a narcissistic kind of therapy… I didn’t think anyone read it. Nowadays I think I just use it as a tool to put written things that I know I won’t publish anywhere else, which is why my blog is fairly second-rate. I was like you was with Facebook, sort of sceptical but now I’ve found it a good way to keep in contact with people I don’t see all the time so it has been pretty good. I’m glad you blog because I suscribe to it and get your updates and thats how I find out you have new music online etc… so keep bloggin!

Anyway I just wanted to say I think you should make an indie game, I know how awesome it could be with you at the reigns. I have loved indie games and fanmade games for a while… my favourite indie games are adventure point-and-click sites and I have been working on one on and off for a little, when I get time. My favourite site for these games and for the software to make them is http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/ (there is a menu on the side to download games). I’m sure you have already seen this site or know of better ones because you seem pretty up with the radness.
